Assessments

Thorough assessments following recognised guidelines and tools.

All of our assessments are thorough and follow National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

We are trained in widely recognised diagnostic assessment tools, for example the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), the Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication differences (DISCO), and the QbCheck to objectively measure core ADHD features.

We are also trained in a range of newer assessment tools, including the Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum (MIGDAS-2) and the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA).

However, we recognise that assessment tools are just one part of the process. There are limitations to many of these tools as they do not always capture more subtle presentations or masking. That’s why we collect information in a range of different ways and from numerous sources where possible.

And most importantly, our assessments are completed in a collaborative and exploratory way, capturing people’s own experiences and perceptions, and supporting them to discover and understand their individual strengths and needs.
